Police Crowd Control System
Police Cordon Trailer Barrier System
Since 2007, Indespension has worked with Security Surveillance companies, who have partnered with industry-leading specialists and the United Kingdom's Police National (PN) CBRN Centre, to manufacture an effective and efficient Scene Management Barrier.
Research and Development resulted in the introduction of the Indespension Police Cordon Barrier System. Designed for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN), and public order events, the system is used to protect key assets and control large crowd movement. In such an event, law enforcement personnel need to be freed up to evacuate or eject people safely, not police the perimeter to prevent others from entering before it’s safe to do so.

Deployment
Quick & Simple to Deploy
Quick and simple to deploy, the trailer barrier system significantly reduces the staff required to set up cordons, and free officers for more hands-on policing.
Successful crowd control can now be handled by less than five officers at each site, improving police and public safety and enabling better allocation of resources by incident controllers.
Extends Out to 13 Metres
Total Span is Equal to 20 Officers
The individual ‘flat wall’ barrier comes as a self-contained trailer which can be towed by a police vehicle to incident sites.
Upon arrival on site, the trailer barrier system can be quickly deployed by two officers in full CBRN protective clothing, ensuring minimal time in the contact zone.
When fully extended, the 13m long barrier system provides a protective width equivalent to a conventional cordon of approximately twenty officers, greatly reducing staffing requirements to maintain the containment. Multiple barriers can be joined together to create an extended blockade, coming complete with winches and chains to align and lock systems together and/or secure to ‘street furniture’ (e.g. post boxes, lamp posts, etc).
it is also possible to deploy with the hinged side sections fixed at different angles (90º, 80º, 70º, 60º, 45º, 0º) and lengths to provide alternative barrier configurations to fit requirements.

Viewing Portals With Secured Access
A lockable rear door enables rapid access for police in full CBRN or public order PPE.
Polycarbonate viewing portals with privacy shutters allow monitoring of crowd activities and assessment of intent, while the roof provides some hard cover protection from a hostile crowd.

The Police Cordon Barrier System is robustly designed, and manufactured from chemical-resistant materials to operate within a CBRN-contaminated environment. There are no moisture trap areas to enable wash-down decontamination, and the galvanised steel and zinc plated finish is non-abrasive to CBRN Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Complying with IP54, both systems are tough enough to operate in extreme weather conditions, withstanding high winds (F6 - 50km/h) and temperatures ranging from (-10ºC to +50ºC).
The system is compliant with European road legislation and has been tested (when fully stowed) for towing stability at speeds of up to 50mph.
The Barrier System has a braked twin axle design, with brake, indicator and number plate lights. It comes complete with break-away cable, a tow hitch with an integrated stabiliser, and ‘run-flat’ tyres for safety during transportation.
